GCN Scotland has a rolling fleet replacement policy so its HGVs are always less than three years old. In 2019 it has taken on eight new Scania tractor units which are already serving customers and this May it will receive eight new Scania rigids, with four DAF 18 tonners, two MAN 7.5-tonne vehicles and three MAN 3.5-tonne vehicles. The company has also ordered six new double-deck trailers from TIP.
“It is very important to us that our fleet is modern, clean and completely reliable,†says Tom Buchanan. “Our ongoing investment in the fleet means there is minimal unscheduled down time and we are running the cleanest vehicles available which helps to minimize our environmental impact and ensure that our vehicles can work in any Clean Air Zone.
“TPN is extremely professional and has very high service levels so joining the network six years ago was a very good move for us,†he says. “One of the values we share with TPN is that of sustainable business – we invest in our company and in our customers to ensure that we can always delver the best possible service.â€
